30 Oct 1807 interesting letter from R Farrant Ballamoar to son Wm Farrant at Chester. contents illustrate the difficulties of getting post to UK, and returning via Liverpool or Whitehaven. Farrant (MHK) left L'pool same tide as Curwen (MHK and UK MP) left Whitehaven. Farrant arr. Douglas 6 hours, Curwen 9 days, via Wales, Scotland and Ireland !!. Nice item.
